Election Results

Voters in Richland Parish elected two local officials, sent a third to a runoff and voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump for president and Start native Luke Letlow for congress along with helping decide other ballot issues on Tuesday according to Wednesday morning's election returns.
In local races, Jim Archibald was elected Justice of the Peace in Ward 4 by 68.6 percent with 749 votes to Jackson Torrey's 343 votes.
Brenda Daniels and Cody Uehling each received 200 votes for Justice of the Peace in Wards 6 and 7, forcing a runoff.

Delhi woman charged with second degree murder

Louisiana State Police Detectives arrested 49-year-old Shana McCullon of Delhi Oct. 29.

McCullon was charged with the second degree murder of 49-year-old Ledon McCullon of Delhi.

LSP Detectives were contacted by the Delhi Police Department Oct. 28 in reference to a homicide that had occurred within their jurisdiction.  After responding to the crime scene on Second Street, and through investigative means, it was determined that Shana McCullon was the suspect in the murder.

She was booked into the Richland Parish Jail.

Mangham schedules homecoming activities

Mangham High School is celebrating Homecoming Week

The students held spirit days including Disney Day/Hero Day on Monrday, Twins/Couples Day on Tuesday, Color Wars on Wednesday and Purple and White on Thursday.

In addition to the spirit days for the students, there will be a pep rally at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Mangham High School football field. During the pep rally, the homecoming court will be presented. 

The homecoming court will be presented again Oct. 30 during the football game against General Trass.

The game will kick off at 7 p.m.

Two killed in accident

Two children and an additional passenger were killed in an accident at 6:20 p.m. Oct. 24 on I-20 East near the Rayville exit.

Louisiana State Police Troop F  aid the initial investigation revealed a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by 33-year-old Eswin Agustin of Monroe, was traveling westbound on Interstate 20.  For reasons still under investigation, the driver lost control of the vehicle, traveled off the right side of the road, and struck a large tree.
