Local growers, crafters and artisans are invited to showcase their homemade and homegrown goods Sept. 22 at Tractor Supply Company’s fall Farmers Market in Rayville.
Vendors with expertise in everything from produce and soaps to homemade crafts and candles are encouraged to sign up to participate.
Harry Lewis, Mayor of Rayville was installed as president of the Louisiana Municipal Association Aug. 2, during the LMA’s 81st annual convention at the Lake Charles Center.
Also installed Thursday night were Sibley mayor Jimmy Williams, as LMA First Vice President, and Grosse Tete mayor Michael Chauffe, as LMA Second Vice President.
The Richland Parish Voluntary Council on Aging is accepting donations to its Sponsor a Senior fundraiser.
“Donations to the Sponsor a Senior fundraiser help us serve senior citizens in Richland Parish, COA director Mickey Shoemaker Fisher said. “The Richland Parish Police Jury provides invaluable assistance by helping pay some of our operating expenses. We are so blessed to be part of this caring community.”
The Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office, along with Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, Monroe Police ,Metro Narcotics and the FBI recebtkt ended a several months long narcotic investigation in Richland and Ouachita parishes.
As a result, Dele Young Miller, 24, and Ashley Bradshaw, 36, both of Rayville, were arrested after a search warrant served for their residence led to the seizure of over 2.5 kilos of methamphetamines, approximately four ounces of synthetic marijuana, Xanax and a handgun.
The drugs seized had an approximate street value of $80,000.
Two men have been arrested for allegedly participating in a home invasion.
The Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at approximately 6:08 a.m. on Aug. 9 from a residence located on Hwy 425, Rayville.
