Franklin named to bank board

Cross Keys Bank is pleased to announce that Rayville native and Richland Parish Chamber of Commerce Board Chairman, Scott Franklin has been elected to serve on the Cross Keys Bank Board of Directors. 

With the bank’s recent decision to reinvest in Rayville with a new branch building, and Scott’s fervent enthusiasm for his community, the relationship will be fruitful for everyone involved.

Riverfield Raiders stop Porters Chapel, 46-14

Coming off a hard loss in their season opener, the Riverfield Academy Raiders took to the road once again this past Friday night to take on the Porters Chapel Eagles in Vicksburg, Miss.

The Raiders took charge of the contest early and came up with their first win of the season which was also a district game.

The Raider offense looked sharp and seemed to get stronger as the night progressed. The Raider defensive unit did its job as well, forcing six Eagle turnovers, including one second quarter Pick Six by Ty Skeldon.

Lady Raiders wrap up rough week on diamond

The Riverfield Academy Lady Raiders lost three close games Aug. 25 in the Bayou Academy 16-team tournament.

The Lady Raiders lost a 1-0 game to Marshall Academy in a pitchers duel in the opening game of the tourney. M. Bennett took the loss on the mound, scattering seven hits. M. Allen had the Raiders only hit.

The Lady Raiders lost an 4-3 extra inning game to Washington School in their second game of the tourney. K. Branch took the loss on the mound. R. Gibson and M. Word had hits for the Lady Raiders.
