Attorney general offers tips for returning gifts

Despite the best of intentions, some Christmas presents may need to be returned or exchanged. While some retailers are making it easier than ever to exchange or return items after the holidays by modifying their standard policies, others may require a little heavy lifting. So Attorney General Jeff Landry is offering some tips to tackle your returns. 

“Return policies vary greatly from store to store,” said General Landry. “So taking a little time to understand each one will go a long way in ensuring your holiday stays merry and bright.”

Police Report

The Rayville Police Department made the following arrests for the week of Dec. 18-24.

• Douglas Grimes, 27, 691 Perkins Road, Rayville; no driver’s license, speeding and expired license plate.

• Laura Sturdivant, 44, 279 Ollie Morris Road, Rayville; theft greater than $300.

• Theotis Martinez, 31, 125 Waldorf St., Rayville; disturbing the peace by fighting.

• Felecia Parker, 24, 125 Waldorf St., Rayville; disturbing the peace by fighting.

ULM names honor students

The University of Louisiana, Monroe, has released its fall 2017 dean’s and president’s lists.

Eligibility to the President’s or Dean’s requires full-time enrollment (a minimum of 12 semester hours completed). 

For the President’s List, a student is required to earn at least a 3.9 grade point average.

For the Dean’s List, an undergraduate student is required to earn at least a 3.5 grade point average.

Louisiana Delta Community College names honor students

Louisiana Delta Community College has released its list of Fall 2017 students who excelled to meet the requirements of the dean’s  and chancellor’s lists.

The chanceloor’s list recognizes those students who have a grade point average of 3.75 or higher. 

Students must have completed 12 hours of course work at LDCC and be classified as a full-time student.
