Saints Alive host October meeting

Saints Alive, a ministry of First Baptist Church, held its second meeting of the season Oct. 29. Saints Alive meets during the months of September through May. Anyone fifty or over is invited to join. Membership dues are $10 per person for the year.

 We have delicious meals, wonderful Christian entertainment/ministry and the best fellowship ever. Come for a visit, and then if you would like to join you are most welcome. 

Zeta Phi Beta honors military members

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority designated Nov. 10–17 as National Military Appreciation Week. 

In celebration the sorority devoted time to honor our Veterans, Active Duty, National Guardsman and Reservists who so honorably serve the nation. The sorority also would like to honor their families who have gone through enormous sacrifices in order for these members to serve.

Members of the Epsilon Omicron Zeta Chapter of Monroe placed flags at each headstone at the Northeast Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery located in Rayville. 

Police Report

The Rayville Police Department made the following arrests for the week of Nov. 5-11.

• David Pryor, 29; 11208 Mingo Road, Hernando, MS; possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

• Judy Jackson, 58; 294 Hwy. 3048, Rayville; disturbing the peace, general.

• Dawn Boisclair, 41; 945 Hwy. 3048, Rayville; possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Schedule I with intent to distribute and possession of

Schedule II with intent to distribute.

Crew Lake UMC honors pastor

Crew Lake United Methodist Church members met as usual Oct. 14.

The services started with the call to worship and a prayer. Next, were the announcements in which Dianne Williams told the story of Marshall Sevier becoming the church’s pastor. That was 10 years ago. He is now in his 11th year with the church which has been blessed to have him that long.

Connie Skains presented a poem on a poster decorated with candy and gum. This poem and decorations were releated to some things the pastor might or has encountered.
