Saints Alive meet for November

Saint’s Alive, a ministry of First Baptist Church, Rayville, met Nov. 27, at the First Baptist Church of Fellowship Hall.

President Helen Diamond welcomed visitors Frances Reeves, Mike Robinson, Donna McGaha and Rev. Mike and Beverly Jackson.

Saints who had happy birthdays in November were recognized. Prayer requests were voiced. Chaplain for Saints Alive, Brother Ralph Odom prayed over the needs and blessed the food. Tables were beautifully decorated with a Christmas theme. Decorators were Rachel Stephenson and Sandra Pesnell. A delicious catered meal was enjoyed by all.

The entertainment for the night was the yearly lively Saint’s Auction. This is held to raise funds for ministries and to provide poinsettias for our homebound Saints. Billy Jo Temple and his helpers provided a lively auction. Lots of Christmas goodies and other great deals were purchased by the Saints to meet the needs to bless others. A great time was had by all. Thanks to everyone who provided items for the auction and for each one who made a purchase.

Saints Alive ended with the theme song, When the Saints Go Marching In.

The next Saint’s Alive will be 6 p.m. Dec. 18. The meal will be finger foods and Christmas goodies. Rayville native Darren Warren will be special entertainment for the evening.

His proud parents are Benny and Eloise Walker of Rayville. Darren is an awesome singer who now resides in Carolina.

Saints Alive welcomes all seniors 55 and over to join them. Membership dues are $10 per year. Members have a great meal, awesome fellowship and wonderful entertainment.
