The Rayville Police Department made the following arrests for the week of April 22-28.

• Gregory Gipson, 26; 500 Spruce St., Rayville; battery of a dating partner.

• Jamar Warren, 33; 120 Laverde Drive, West Monroe; discharging a firearm. 

• Quindrick Shaw, 31; 9611 Custer Road, Apt. 2118, Plano; careless operation.

• Shareata Carter, 28; 107 Parkwest Drive, West Monroe; disturbing the peace by loud music.

• Khy Smith, 28; 201 Meadowlark St., Rayville; damage to property and battery of a dating partner.

• Cory Murphy, 26; 107 Donna St., Rayville; no driver’s license and careless operation.

• Kayla Hart, 30; 841 Parish Line Road, Delhi; remaining after being forbidden.

• Jacob Jeselink, 20; 1407 South 5th St., Monroe; shoplifting.

• Payton Hines, 19; 1557 Hwy. 137, Mangham; open container and possession of alcohol under 21.

The Rayville Police Department issued a total of 18 traffic citations this week. That number includes 10 for speeding, three for careless operation with an accident and one each for failure to yield with an accident, no proof of insurance, no seatbelt, stop sign and littering.

Rayville Police Chief Willie Robinson would like to remind all citizens of Rayville that we as a community must all work together to maintain the peace and safety of our town.

“It is your responsibility to abide by the laws and ordinances that are in place to govern citizens,” he said. “It is my responsibility to deal with criminal activity and any behavior that disturbs the peace of Rayville or endangers the citizens. I ask all to remember for every action there is a reaction; for every law broken, there is a consequence.”
