DCS robotics teams head to state

The Delhi Charter School junior robotics teams earned top awards  Feb. 18 at the Louisiana State VEX IQ Championship.

DCS team HUB 41, helmed by Nate Kirkland, Brett Carter, Talmadge Parker, Kaden Sauseda and Ashton Harrell, won the Middle School Excellence Award, which is the top award of the championship, as well as Tournament Finalists.

DCS team Beauties and the Beast, led by Jenny Wright, Lisa Wright, Shelby Jeffers, Harley Jinks and Abbie Houston, won the Design Award for best design process.  

DCS team Cyberbats, manned by Jacob Hosea, Payton Greer, Ty Jones, Bennett Johnston, Drake Morgan and Hunter Enterkin, won the Teamwork Champion Award, the Robot Skills Award, and the Think Award.  

   All three of these teams qualify to compete at the World Championship in Louisville, Kentucky this April.   Delta Charter and Pineville Elementary also took home several awards and will also be competing in the World Championship.  

The DCS high school teams will compee in the VRC State Championship in New Orleans Feb. 23.
