Holly Ridge Happenings

A man was asked to paint a boat.

He brought his paint and brushes and began to paint the boat a bright red as the owner had asked him. While painting, he noticed a small hole in the hull and quietly repaired it. When he finished painting, he received his money and left.

The next day, the owner of the boat came to the painter and presented him with a nice check, much larger than the payment for painting.

The painter said “You’ve already paid me for painting the boat, sir.”

“But this is not for the paint job. It’s for repairing the hole in the boat.”

A professor gave a balloon to every student who had to inflate it, write their name on it and throw it in the hallway.

The professor then mixed all the balloons. The students were given five minutes to find their own balloon. Despite a hectic search no one found their balloon. At this point the professor told the students to take the first balloon they found and hand it to the person whose name was written on it. Within five minutes, everyone had their own balloon.

Hate has four letters, so does, love, lying has five letters, so does truth. Negative has eight, so does positive. Under has five, so does above. Cry has three letters, so does joy. Anger has five letters, so does happy. Right has 5 letters, so does wrong. Hurt has four letters, so does heal.

It means life is like a double edged sword, so transform everything negative side into an aura of positivity. We would choose the better side of the life.

If you're going to believe in everthing you read, then start with your Bible.

Choose this day to enjoy the living, loving, all-powerful Presence of Christ inside of you instead of letting yourself be distracted by all the chaos going on outside of you. You’ll be so glad you did.

I really had a surprise on Wednesday morning, Walter Hillman stopped in and I can’t tell you when I last saw him. He had some bacon and sausage and cake, (does not drink coffee) It was so good to visit and try to catch up on happenings.

If you still have your mom, love her and tell her that often you will surely miss her when God calls her home!

Travis “Cootsie” Richards and son, Troy Richards, flew to Boston on April 22 to attend two Red Sox games at Fenway Park. Cootsie’s favorite team has always been the Red Sox and he has always wanted to attend a game at the nation’s oldest baseball park. They got to see the Red Sox take on the Seattle Mariners.
