Holly Ridge Happenings

Forgiveness

It takes a lot of energy to keep a grudge alive. The longer there is a lack of forgiveness, the more bitterness, anger and self-pity poisons the blood and eats at the heart. Hand it over to God and allow Him to show you the path to forgiveness.

Many thanks to you who have called to tell me that they are proud I’m better and do enjoy the happenings.

This Wednesday saw Lee and Melva Thompson Summers from up in the far corner of Arkansas. Melva’s brother, Alton, from West Monroe, was with them. Was good to see them.

Friday was a doctor's appointment, so Tanja drove “Miss Daisy” to Monroe. Ate at our favorite, Catfish Charlies. When we started out, I casually spoke to a young fireman who had come in. He said “You ladies headed by North Holly Ridge?” Well, it was Clint Sistrunk. I’m sorry I did speak but at the time I had not looked good enough. Oh, well.

Out to our car, some couple was getting out of their car, Well it was Allen and Joan Nicholson Futch. I spoke and she said, “I don’t know you,” and so did Allen, but when I told them they did apologize.

From one end of the Bible to the other, God assures us that He will never go back on His promises.

A man who will surely be missed. Quiet but caring. May God bless each one touched by his life.

Have a great week, call and share.

Remember: When things feel overwhelming, one thought at a time, one task at a time, one day at a time.
