Raider track and field to begin at Riverfield

The school year is quickly passing by and with basketball season coming to a finish attention is now being focused on spring sports at Riverfield Academy.

One of those spring sports is track and field.  A large group of students will begin practice on Feb. 18 preparing for competition in four scheduled meets as well as MAIS-3A district and state meets.

RHS girls post amazing win

The Rayville High School girls may have pulled off a feat equal to the boys’ 46-point first-quarter scoring when they beat Ferriday 67-31 in Rayville last Tuesday night.

You see, the Ferriday Trojans have this pair of twin towers that keep the ball in the clouds out of reach of the Lady Hornets. In Ferriday, they played smoothly and flawlessly with one stationed around the free throw line and the other near the goal. Their guards would deliver the ball to the first one who would relay with a lob out of reach of the Lady Hornets to the other who would score.

Hornets come out on top after facing series of tests against three tough teams

Three more games, three more wins, but some competition in the third one.

The Rayville High School Hornets took a break from district play and motored to Bastrop for some 4A competition.  Well, at least a game with them.

Though Bastrop showed some improvement over the first game earlier this season, the Hornets still managed a 25-five point win 87-62. One has to realize that the  Hornets have improved during the season as well.
