RHS boys continue proving themselves

The number two team in the district came into Rayville seeking revenge for a loss in their gym earlier this season.

They didn’t get it from the number one seed in Louisiana. It didn’t take long to determine that they wouldn’t as the Hornets raced out to a 30-14 lead in the first quarter on the way to a 109-69 Hornet win.

Their percentage wasn’t particularly good but seven different Hornets hit a three. Nashaun Ellis had four, Rashad Naylor three, Mylik Wilson two, JaMichael Wilson, Jalen Qualls, Christopher Jones and Zyquarcus Cowart all had one.

Nashaun Ellis and JaMicheal Wilson were high scorers with 27 each.  Mylik Wilson had 15, JaMarkus added 10, Rashad Naylor nine, Jalen Quells 8, Christopher Jones five, Jay  Pleasant and Zyquarcus each with three.  Samuel Sledge dropped in two.

By the time you read this, its likely that the Hornets will have beaten the Mangham Dragons.  So one left for the regular season, Delhi Charter.  The Hornets will likely have the first two playoff games at home.

Come see what I think is a cinch to be state champions. If by some freak they miss it, they are still the best basketball team Rayville has ever had.
