A state championship is what Delhi Charter school power lifting team is looking for this year.

As football has moved out, powerlifting is moving in. Delhi Charter School has made their way on up to State, DCS boys are top ranked in the 1A Team Championship and they plan to accomplish the same goal this year as a team. Delhi Charter can definitely say they are going strong and bringing home the pyramid.

DCS has ten boys going to State this year. Randy Julian, Joshua Wallace, Garth Sullivan, Justin Beach, Bradford Jackson, Michael Fries, Rickey Banks, Andrew Loyd, Michael Greer, and Henry Ellis.

DCS has been honored to have two seniors that have won previous State Titles. Senior Garth Sullivan won Nationals as a freshman; he placed first in Regionals this year and claimed a State Title in the 123lb.weight class in 2009. He plans to keep his Title at State this year.

Our next strong contender, senior Randy Julian, who won a State title in the 198lb. weight class in 2009; he also placed second at Regional this year. Julian plans to bring home the State title one last time.

Senior Josh Wallace was only 10 pounds away from bringing home the State title in 2009. He placed fifth at Regionals in the 242 pound weight class this year. Josh states, “He is going stronger than ever before and plans to bring home the title”.

But hold on that’s not all: Delhi Charter has their first ever Girls Powerlifting Team. With so little time to get things ready, DCS has four girls qualified for State and they are in it to win it. The girl competitors are Alana Sullivan (sixth grade), Kristen Sullivan (ninth grade), Allison McKnight (ninth grade), and Sage Ames (seventh grade).

Delhi Charter is coming, and coming stronger than ever, looking everyone else in the face, letting them know that they better be ready.
