 <description>&lt;p&gt;A Kansas City Southern Railroad crew works to smooth down the hump where the the Louisa Street crosses the tracks in Rayivlle. The improvements are an attempt to stop tractor-trailer rigs with long beds from getting hunt  up on the road as they cross.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>District welding competition held</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Welding students from 10 schools throughout northeastern Louisiana gathered at Richland Career Center in Archibald for the 2010 Northeast Louisiana District FFA Welding Contest Tuesday.  Each team consisted of two members with the top eight teams advancing to the regional competition later in the year.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Early voting to begin for March election</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Early voting for March 27 elections will be held March 13-20 at the Registrar of Voters Office in the Richland Parish Courthouse.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Citizens may vote from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. However, no voting will be held on March 14.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In addition to early voting, Richladn Parish Registrar Carol Morgan said voters may also  request a mail ballot either from her office or by downloading it at &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.sos.louisiana.gov&quot; title=&quot;www.sos.louisiana.gov&quot;&gt;www.sos.louisiana.gov&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Rayville’s incumbent mayor Harry Lewis will face challengers Anthony Nash and Morgan Moss Jr. Lewis and Nash are Democrats while Moss is a member of the Green Party.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Bombardier in B-17 for first time since WWII</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;A local group provided a special treat for a lifelong Mangham resident and World War II veteran in Monroe on March 4.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;D.B. McKay, who served aboard a B-17 in World War II, was provided a special “incentive ride” Thursday during an aircraft exhibition at the Monroe Regional Airport.  The exhibition was part of the Wings of Freedom Tour sponsored by the Collings Foundation.  The event showcased a B-17, a B-24 and a P-51 and offered what it calls a “flight experience” aboard the aircraft for a fee.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Bunny cake sale set</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;It’s that time of year again.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Original Richland Library Restoration Society will host its annual Easter Bunny Cake Sale April 1-2 at Rhymes Library.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“Funds will be used to promote Rhymes Memorial Library and help fund the ElderCare Program here at the library,” restoration society president Suanne McDonald said.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The bunny-shaped cakes may be purchased for $15 each by phoning the library at 728-4127.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The deadline for ordering is March 19 and cakes may be picked up at the library from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 1-2.&lt;/p&gt;
