Rayville Slowly disappearing building by building
I do not get back HOME to Rayville very often but when I do, I get depressed. It seems that the town as we once knew it is slowing passing away. I noticed the building Mr. Charlie cut hair in so many years is gone, both sides of the street has nothing but empty buildings except for Glovers and the bank and a few more. I wish we could get together and try to get a grant to restore the buildings and bring new buiness in to our city. Ponchatoula, Louisiana ( just one I know about reason I mention this city) was once in that very state, local citizens there got together and now almost every building is filled with something and more businesses are come in. Where once there were only 2 places to eat lunch if you worked in Ponchatoula, there are as many eating restaurants etc as any normal city. It now has 2 motel/hotels, once a year the town opens up at night and has a walk about town with music and food. most of the stores stay open. People from various towns look forward to this even. I anyone is interested in helping me try to improve the builders please let me know your impute about this.
