Harrell retires after 32 years with Louisiana State Police
Lt. Lee Harrell of the Louisiana State Police was honored by his employees with a retirement luncheon July 16 at the Mangham Community Center.

Harrell retired with 32 years of law enforcement experience. Approximately 125 friends, colleagues and law enforcement officers from eight parishes attended, including Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell and Ouachita Parish Sheriff Royce Toney.

Several state police officials from Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles and Alexandria also attended.

Harrell is a lifelong resident of Richland Parish. He grew up in Delhi, graduating from Delhi high School.

He served the first 12 years of his career at the Delhi Police Department and as a volunteer at the Delhi Fire Department and Delhi Ambulance Association.

The last 20 years of his career have been with the state police.

Harrell is the son of Archie and Barbara Harrell of Delhi and the son-in-law of George and Patricia Johnson of Rayville. He is married to LaJuana Harrell. They have two children, Madison and McKenzie.

The Harrells live in Rayville. They are members of Mangham Baptist Church where Lee Harrell serves as a deacon.

Harrell thanked all in attendance and added that he plans to remain active in the community after some well-deserved family time.
