Police Report

The Rayville Police Department made the following arrests for the week of March 8-14.

• Calvin Williams, 19, 102 Gundy St., Rayville; failure to appear on resisting arrest, failure to appear on remaining after forbidden; failure to appear on theft, failure to appear on resisting an officer, failure to appear on trespassing and failure to appear on battery.

• Michael Kendricks, 35, 202 Leo St., Rayville; simple assault, simple criminal damage to property and vandalism.

• Kody Johnson, 20, 6899 Pine Grove Loop, Bastrop; simple assault.

• Cynthia Jones, 41, 27 M.J. Johnson Road, Rayville; no driver’s license.

• Ashley Silk, 23, 309 Hilton St., Monroe; driving under suspension.

• Datorous Sledge, 21, 111 Meadowlark St., Rayville; disturbing the peace by loud music, open container and driving under suspension.

• Lateshia Simpkins, 26, 102 Kelsey Drive, Rayville; speeding.

• Devar Brown, 18, 101 Ramona St., Rayville; unauthorized use of a credit card.

• Dontrey Davis, 18, 108 Wanda St., Rayville; unauthorized use of a credit card.

• Lakeisha Reed, 24, 209 Leo St., Rayville; disturbing the peace.

• Four juveniles were arrested. One was charged with disturbing the peace, two for disturbing the peace by fighting and one for battery on a school teacher and disturbing the peace by fighting.

A total of 27 traffic citations were issued by the Rayville Police Department this week. That number includes 20 for speeding, two each for careless operation with an accident and improper lane use and one each for expired driver’s license, improper left turn and impeding the flow of traffic.

Rayville Police Chief Willie Robinson would like to commend the citizens of Rayville for cooperating with him to make this town a better place to live.

“The progress in our town can be seen because our town is moving forward,” he said. “This is because you, the citizen, care about our community. We must continue to work together for the good of the Rayville community.”

Chief Robinson further challenges all to continue to work with the Rayville Police Department to keep Rayville moving forward in a positive direction. Chief Robinson vows that he and his staff will continue to keep Rayville safe. Rayville is a town that all can be proud of.
