Police Report

The Rayville Police Department made the following arrests for the week of Feb. 22-28.

• Michael Potts, 20, 122 Forest St., Rayville; damage to propery.

• Lela Dean, 26, 138B South Circle Drive, Rayville; aggravated battery.

• Jalissia Lawson, 19, 316 Russell St., Rayville; remaining after forbidden.

• Matthew Townsend, 33, 97 Temple Loop, Rayville; simple battery.

• Cybil Brakefield, 24, 204 Ashley Ave., Rayville; simple battery.

• Roderick Matthew, 24, 2507 Western St., Winnsboro; careless operation.

• Prentiss Wilson, 19, 225 Wanda St., Rayville; disturbing the peace by fighting.

• Terrance Johnson, 41, 1921 Berkley St., Bastrop; remaining after forbidden.

• One juvenile was charged with vehicle burglary.

A total of three traffic citations were issued by the Rayville Police Department this week. That number includes one each for excessive speeding, careless operation and driver’s license not in possession.

Rayville Police Chief Willie Robinson would like to take this time to extend his heartfelt sympathy to all of the bereaved families of Rayville and the surrounding areas.

“We must persevere in all times of difficulty, oppositions and discouragement,” he said. “At all times, we must give respect and be responsible in carrying out our obligations and we must show self-discipline, that is, being in proper control of our words, actions, impluse and desires.”

The chief reminds us that we must show integrity at all times and be kind to all. Lastly the chief adds we must continue to build our town.

“We must work together for the good and strive to be an example or mentor for our children to proudly pattern themselves after,” he said. “Remember in all you do, put God first.”
