Letter to the Editor
Seniors appreciate Day at the Lake
Dear Editor,
On Friday, May 14, 2010, the senior citizens of Richland Parish were treated, honored, and above all, Blessed to have been the recipients of a “Day at the Lake” at Poverty Point in Delhi.
This event was sponsored by Triad, the Richland Parish Sheriff’s Department, BancorpSouth Bank and the Richland Voluntary Council on Aging.
These sponsors, along with other volunteers, made us feel like kinds and queens. We were treated royally. We were “served” a delicious lunch of catfish, fries, grilled hamburger (with all the trimmings), cokes and water. After lunch, door prizes were given.
All our wants or needs were met immediately with a friendly smile. We also had the pleasure of fishing and an enjoyable boat ride down the beautiful lake. We were even provided rides from one point of activity to another. This was truly a day of leisure with as much food and fun as anyone could partake.
The purpose of this letter is to say thanks to our sponsors for making this day possible for all senior citizens of Richland Parish.
