Not by chance nor happenstance

Into our lives come many things to break the dull routine. The things we had not planned on that happen unforseen, the unexpected little joys that are scattered on our way. Success we did not count on or are a rare fulfilling day, A catchy, lilting melody that makes us want to dance. A nameless exaltation of enchantment and romance. A unsought word of kindness a complaint or two that sets the eyes to gleaming like crystal drops of dew. The unplanned sudden meeting that comes with sweet surprise and lights the heart with happeness like a rainbow in the skies. Now some folks call it fickle fate and some folks call it chance while others just accept it as a pleasant happenstance but no matter what you call it, it didn’t come without design, for all our lives are fashioned by the hand that is Divine and every happy happening and every lucky break are little gifts from God above that are ours to freely take. Psalms 37:23 says “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord!

Here for the weekend with Mrs. Dan Cobb was her girls, Sue Cobb from Lafayette and Cheryl Kirk and little Amy from Baton Rouge. Sue and Amy come to the store for a visit before going back. Rodger and Dollie Dew have been down for a few days while W.J. has been in St. Francis Medical Center. Hopefully he will soon be back at the V.A. Home/

Aunt Lannie and her brother Robert from Swartz motored over to Quitman to vist with Mrs. Lannie Brunson who has been ill and is staying at her sons for a while.

Little Mandy Parker had a night out last week with her pawpaw John Still, they enjoyed the monster trucks at the Civic Center. By the way I’ve got girl scout cookies to sell for my little friend, so come on by.

Had the best visit when Leo and Carolyn Lyle come by the store after church Sunday night. It had been seems like years since they had been for a brief visit.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of Henry Clay who used to live in our community before moving to Monroe. May God bless each one during this time of sorrow.

I also lost another dear cousin, Aunt Norman Davis Crawford who passed away on Thursday in Manahans, Texas. She was 94 years of age and was survived by two daughters, Fay Jean Sheeton and Nell Ray Haynes and their families.

Happy Birthday this week to: Tina Silk and Phyllis Moore on March. 4th, Deborah Ogles on March 5th,Jane Tarver, Joe Meeks and Madison Patrick on March. 6th, Ronald Rawls and Hunter Stewart on March 9th, Shannon Williams and David Nix, and my Great Grandson Cooper Mannin Thompson on March. 10th. May these celebrate many more!

Anniversary wishes to: Vanessa Thompson 29 years employed Guaranty Bank on March. 9th. Dorothy and Eugene Inzer (66 years) on March 7th. Kay and Mud Bryant on March 4th. May these share many more happy years together!
