Hazel Burgess
Funeral services for Hazel Burgess, 91, of Archibald, LA were held Thursday, September 2, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Archibald with Rev. John Cleveland and Rev. Prentis Gandy officiating.
Interment followed in Gwin Cemetery, Mangham, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home in Rayville, LA.
Hazel Burgess was born April 15, 1919 in Mangham, LA and passed away Monday, August 30, 2010 in West Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Burgess was a member of First Baptist Church of Archibald. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeffie and Pearl Hales; son-in-law, Ervin Gene Brown; grandson, Edward “Scooter” Brown; and her brother, Peter C. Hales.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Pearl Watson and husband, Fred of Baskin, LA, Sybil Brown of Baskin, LA, and Marie Clark and husband, Jim of Crocket, TX; sons, Wilfred Burgess, Sr. and wife, Joann of Archibald, LA and Tommy Burgess and wife, Dolly of Archibald, LA; 15 grandchildren including one special granddaughter, Penny Johns was like a daughter; 31-great grandchildren and 6-great-great grandchildren; sister, Willie Sturgeon of West Monroe, LA; host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, William Burgess, Wilfred Burgess, Jr., David Watson, Greg Burgess, Jeff Burgess, Randy Watson, Mark Watson, and Jay Bowman.
