Early voting to begin for March election

Early voting for March 27 elections will be held March 13-20 at the Registrar of Voters Office in the Richland Parish Courthouse.

Citizens may vote from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. However, no voting will be held on March 14.

In addition to early voting, Richladn Parish Registrar Carol Morgan said voters may also request a mail ballot either from her office or by downloading it at www.sos.louisiana.gov.

Rayville’s incumbent mayor Harry Lewis will face challengers Anthony Nash and Morgan Moss Jr. Lewis and Nash are Democrats while Moss is a member of the Green Party.

In the election for Rayville police chief incumbent Willie Robinson faces Barbara Carroll. Both are Democrats.

Eight people will content for the five aldermen positions in the town of Rayville.

They are incumbents Johnny “Renael” Jones, Valerie Allen and Terry “Coach” Brown along with newcomers Debra K. James, Abbie Berry Woods, Howard Banks, Paula Buie Cumpton and Timothy “Tim” Tennant.

All are Democrats with the exception of Jones, who registered without any party affiliation.
