• King David “Hopewell” Baptist Church, Mangham, will host revival services at 7 p.m. nightly July 29-30.
• St. Peter’s Rock Baptist Church will host revival services Aug. 1-6. Prayer meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 1-3 with preaching at 7 p.m. Aug. 4-6.
• The Richland/Madison Parish Chapter of the ULM Alumni Association will host its annual gathering Aug. 3 at Black Bear Country Club. The social time will begin at 6:30 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. The cost of dinner is $10 and consist of burgers, baked beans, potato salad and drinks. • New Zion Baptist Church, 5 Adcock Road, Rayville, will celebrate the 22nd anniversary of Pastor and Sister Tom Baker at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 8.
• New Beginnings Christian Ministry, 204 Morgan St., Rayville, will host a Back 2 School program at 3 p.m. Aug. 8. School supplies will be available after the evening service.
• Rayville Masonic Lodge #209 will meet at 7 p.m. Aug. 9. The lodge meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month.
• The 12th annual Jennifer Robertson Memorial Praise Fest will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 14 at Monroe Baptist Church, 210 Finks Hideaway Road, Monroe.
• A hunter education class will be held from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 16-18 at Rayville High School. To pre-register, call the Richland Parish Sheriff’s Offic at 728-2071.
• The fourth annual Girl Scout Round-Up for girls in grade K-12 will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo Pavilion in Monroe. Please contact Girl Scouts of Louisiana – Pines to the Gulf with any questions at 1-800-960-2093.
• Starr Homeplace will host a Back to School Community Day from 8 a.m. to dusk Sept. 11. The focus is on Inventions and Technology and is open to the public. Teachers are invited to come and check out the 19 museums on the property that lend themselves for school fieldtrips. Dates are now being taken for the upcoming school year for tours. Lunch will be served on the grounds for a donation. There is a $5 entrance fee.
• The National Family Caregiver Support Program can provide personal services at no cost to caregivers through the Council on Aging. Please contact the Richland Voluntary COA at 728-2646 or United Home Services at 329-9264 or 888-799-9968 to learn more about the program.
• Rayville High School’s earliest Palmetto issue is the 1927 edition. The school is missing the books for 1929-1941, 1943-1945, 1970, 1974, 1982, 1983, 1991, 1994, 1995, 1997, 2002 and 2003. Anyone who would like to donate a copy of any of these years to RHS is asked to call the school at 728-3296.
