Bastrop woman killed when her SUV hits 18-wheeler head-on

A Bastrop woman has died in a two-vehicle crash in Morehouse Parish.
Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers investigated a two-vehicle fatal crash on March 17, 2010 at about 10:40 pm.
A 2001 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling west on LA 2 near milepost 159.7 when, for unknown reasons, it crossed the center line and struck a 2008 Volvo tractor/trailer head-on. After the collision, both vehicles ran off the road way and the Volvo became engulfed in flames.
The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 35-year-old Barbara Evans from Bastrop, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Morehouse Parish Coroner's Office.
The driver of the Volvo, identified as 50-year-old Richard West from Grenada, MS, was taken to Morehouse General Hospital with minor injuries.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
